akarta-Malang State University (UM) is increasingly open in providing public information services. This is evidenced by the receipt of a certificate of appreciation from the Central Information Commission (KIP), Monday, November 5 2018, at the Palace of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jl. Kebon Sirih No. 14 Central Jakarta.
Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Drs. H. Muhammad Yusuf Kalla said that public information must be more open in order to provide good services to the public.
"Public institutions must always be close to the community so that their programs can be accepted by the community. By delivering good programs, we can avoid hoax information, ”he explained
This year UM won the predicate towards being informative in the category of state universities (PTN), together with Tanjungpura University, UI, UB, UGM, UNP, and ITB. Meanwhile, IPB is a PTN that has received the Informative predicate. UM Rector, Prof. Dr. AH. Rofi'uddin, M.Pd received the award certificate of the 2018 Public Agency Information Disclosure, accompanied by the Head of Cooperation and Public Relations, Dra. Aminarti S. Wahyuni and Head of Sub Division of Public Relations, Indria Santy, SE
The Chairman of the Central Information Commission (KIP), Gede Narayana expressed his appreciation to the public agencies that participated in filling out the questionnaire and for consistency in implementing Law no. 14 of 2008. He added that in the future Public Bodies are expected to provide better services to the community.
"We need to emphasize that the result of this award is not an event that is interpreted as a contestation, but we must interpret it as a benchmark for implementing information disclosure in Indonesia," he explained.
This 2018 public agency information disclosure award has gone through several stages. The first stage is filling out the monitoring and evaluation questionnaire, the second stage is verifying and evaluating the results of the questionnaire, and the last stage is the presentation to the KIP commissioners.
