Poor. Managing public information in tertiary institutions is part of the duties of the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) and public relations staff. In order to support the manager's understanding of public information, State University of Malang (UM) held a workshop on public information disclosure and strengthening of information services on Tuesday, 21 August 2018 in the UM library hall. The workshop, which started at 11.00 to 16.00 WIB was attended by UM officials, presenters, PPID managers and UM public relations staff as well as invited guests.
The workshop started with remarks from the UM Rector, Prof. Dr. Hah. Rofi'uddin, M.Pd. and continued with the presentation of PPID implementation at UM by the vice chancellor IV, Drs. I Wayan Dasna, M.Si., M.Ed., Ph.D. Also present were speakers from the Commissioner of the Central Information Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, Cecep Suryadi, S.Sos., ME and Fathul Ulum, SH, MH, an expert on the Central Information Commission of the Republic of Indonesia.
Cecep Suryadi explained that in the presentation of public information management material in tertiary institutions, Cecep Suryadi said that in implementing public information disclosure, public agencies must compile internal regulations on public information services, announce information, form PPID teams or organs and provide information. This is supported by Law (UU) No. 14 of 2018 article 2 paragraph (3) regarding the disclosure of public information. "Every public information applicant must be able to obtain public information quickly and on time, in low cost and in a simple way". As a manager, PPID in higher education acts as the implementing PPID of the ministry of research, technology and higher education.
Continuing the explanation from Cecep, Fathul Ulum, SH, MH revealed the updating of the list of public information.
"There are 3 processes for updating the list of public information, first, collecting all public information in the unit, work unit, other organizational instruments, second, identifying the type of information and third, compiling information in the public information list," he explained.
Continuing his explanation, Fathul added that the list of public information that has been compiled and validated by the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID), then the list of public information is then determined and published through the media available to the public. There is also Article 7 paragraph (4) letter d of the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the implementing PPID is tasked with determining the classification of public information.
